Summer Camps 2012

This is a great time to look into summer camps 2012 for youth and teens alike.  What are your kids doing next summer?  What do they like to do, and how can you find the perfect summer camp for them?  Let’s look at some great day and overnight residential summer camps for kids and teens for summer 2012!

Overnight Summer Camps

Is your child ready to go away for an overnight summer camp?  Is this their first time?  Have they tried a slumber party at a friend’s house, or been an overnight guest at a friend’s house?  If not, why not get together with another family and swap sleepover experiences now, just to test the water? If your boy or girl looks forward to the sleepaway experience, they may enjoy themselves and then have a bit of confidence toward a summer camp that’s overnight.  If they don’t look forward to the sleepaway at a friend’s house, just assure them that it’s only for a night, and visit the family’s house together to see where the sleepover will take place, what the bedding will be, whether or not your child will bring their own sleeping bag and pillow, or be provided these things.  Give the sleepover a try, and if it doesn’t work out just assure your child that you will be available to pick them up.  They might not be ready for a sleepaway camp just yet.  If this is the case then you might just try a day summer camp instead.  You can always visit the nearest residential overnight camp to see how that feels for your child, and the following summer may be the best opportunity.

Christian Summer Camps

Kids in New York have enjoyed attending Camp Stella Maris resident camp, day camp, weekend camps, and team building events from June 24, 2012 through August 17, 2012.  this camp is for boys and girls, and the cost of resident camp varies between $552 for 1 week to $1238 for two weeks with a special hike on the Saturday between week sessions.  Kids are divided by age groups and enjoy activities appropriate to their age groups. There’s plenty of time for outdoor fun, such as swimming lessons for younger kids and sailing for older kids.  With prayer and outdoor activities, this is a favorite camp for kids that enjoy a Christian experience combined with making new friends and doing new activities.
